Italian politics remembers Chiara Lubich

On March 12 , in the Hall of the Parliamentary Group of the Montecitorio Palace in Rome , was held the first round of the international program “Politics for Unity. Making a world of difference”.

The Speaker Laura Boldrini opened the proceedings of the meeting “Fraternità in cammino” which featured 350 young people from 42 countries that in the morning , through numerous testimonies and reflections , dialogued with professor Pasquale Ferrara, diplomat, and professor Luigino Bruni, economist and historian of economic thought .

In the afternoon the conference entitled “Chiara Lubich: l’unità e la politica” was opened by the messages of President Sergio Mattarella and Senate President Pietro Grasso.

The Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies Marina Sereni and the President of the Focolare Movement Maria Voce of Hanno have personally Looking own greeting to the present.

Through the testimony of MPs , diplomats and civil servants has shown how the charism of Unity has affected in some areas of national and international political and administrative.

Subsequently, through the contribution of teachers unicìversitari , political scientists and sociologists , we reflected on the cultural significance of innovative political thought of Chiara Lubich as part of the triptych ” Liberty, Equality and Fraternity ” and the action she traveled in the relentless pursuit and practice of universal brotherhood.
