Based on the Global Peace Index 2016, the Institute for Economy and Peace states that the world has been less peaceful since last year.

This report also shows the continuous gap growth between countries experiencing more violence than the other. In fact, there are many of which any sign of peace has not been shown while situations of the last 20 countries presented in the index have worsened.

The index takes into account, may they be international conflicts or not, the country involved, its internal security (measured by ten factors, including terroristic crime and activity), and its military level, considering other data and military expenditures.
